I have been working on my personal website for the past few weeks. I released the updated design at 12midnight last night.

For the past year I was heavy into photography; landscape mainly. I find it odd that I am only now getting into this artform.

I fiddled with my father’s Kodak film cameras back in the day. I also remember lugging around my Kodak KB10 point and shoot. Shooting anything and bringing those rolls of film to the print lab. That is all I could say about my photography background though.

In December of 2015, I picked up my first ever prosumer camera. A Sony A6000 — a beautiful little mirrorless camera that packs an APS-C sensor. Initially, I was just thinking of using the camera as an upgrade over how I used the iPhone’s camera — point, then shoot — with the added benefit of some increased depth of field.

Nope. I thought wrong. Being into rock climbing and the outdoors, I got hooked into photographing these beautiful landscapes that I often see. My 2016 was mostly spent poring over Google Maps to find prime locations for a composition.

Here I am a year later with several photos and no proper way of showcasing them. Injustice to the work put into capturing these frames.

I decided to rewrite the whole site to revolve around photography. It is still a very basic website: a homepage, an about me page, the main gallery, and this blog, which runs on Medium.

I have a couple of major plans to add to the site, a roadmap we call in product development. But before I do, I need to squash out a few bugs.

Cheers

Nick
